  1. BUPA's Awesome F1 challenge
    Tuesday, 16 February 2010, 12:13 pm

BUPA's Property & Development team join forces  with Successfactory for an Awesome F1 challenge

The recently merged property and development team from Bupa Care Homes recently came together for 2 days at  Successfactory to  unite as one high performing  team. They spent day 1 proving how good they are with a Formula 1 Challenge. Activities included a Pit Stop Challenge with an  incredible  full scale F1 car . The team had to work together using weather reports and track information to change tyres and re-fuel the car as quickly as possible. A 32 second pitstop was recorded as a new best  time . Giant scalextric was an opportunity for them to show off individual skill,  and help their team to get the best lap times . The team also beat away the cold with a Segway Slalom race. We saw some excellent pit relays , team support  and a variety of fantastic dismounts. Each team raced to get the final points by designing their own race track with bends, bridges and features which represented  their teams strengths and values. Tracks featured a variety of metaphors such as: keeping ahead of the competition, Claire's curves, the knowledge pool, Evans Elbow and a fast response team to help keep them on track.  The day enabled the team to get to know each others strengths and build strong relationships.  The conversations continued over dinner and well into the evening!

Day 2 involved building trust and understanding through behavioural analysis as the team shared their individual strengths. The team then got stuck into developing their "ways of working" and agreeing their team charter using  graphic facilitation. King Arthur was even called into action as a mentor and guide to help the team develop the key attributes of a high performance team.

  2. Exciting New Equine Partnership
    Monday, 1 February 2010, 11:59 am

Successfactory are delighted to announce their new partnership with David and Sharon Harris.  Following on from the success of Equine Coaching and Leadership Courses at our venue in Cheshire with our Northern Partners, EQ Harmony, we will now be able to offer this incredibly powerful experience in the South, near to Windsor.

When using this approach individuals and teams complete different activities with horses to gain unbiased feedback on their behaviour and responses.  This feedback provides powerful insights which lead to performance improvement and enhanced results.

David and his wife Sharon have run their Equine Guided Leadership, Team and Personal Development programmes since 2001, all over Europe and the USA.

David says "Classroom training is wonderful for certain aspects of leadership and team building; but for the more profound and challenging elements you need to have a full body of learning experience.  In my opinion, horses are the masters for bringing out our true potential in a way that is easily integrated into our lives.  This facilitates the deep learning to take place."

David is an NLP Practitioner, ICF PCC Coach, Natural Horseman and an Equine Guided Learning Facilitator.  David and Sharon have run their workshops for RBS, Nat West, Cisco Systems, SAP, Cap Gemini, Allied Irish Bank and numerous small to medium sized businesses.

If you would like to read more about the Equine Coaching experience, our 'What's New' article dated 12th November 2009, describes the powerful experience of a team from Coca Cola.

  9. Inspirational Equine Coaching for Coca-Cola
    Thursday, 12 November 2009, 11:37 am

This month we had the pleasure of facilitating a truly inspirational Coaching Programme for Coca-Cola Enterprises Ltd. using Horses and here is what they had to say:

"Our learning and development team are currently rolling out a coaching programme across the Company.  A key element of the programme relates to Coach Congruence (authenticity).  Whilst much has been written about congruence, translating this material into a meaningful experience for delegates has long been a barrier which I have found difficult to overcome.  Until a recent experience with Successfactory that is.  Successfactory truly delivered an inspirational programme that allowed the team to work with Horses.  The challenge of how to relate and to gain the trust of such a wonderful complex being, whose world is very much in the moment, its behaviours truly congruent with its emotions, I found inspiring and I may add humbling, on so many levels.  Engaging congruently with the horse meant getting into its world, attempting to see things as it was currently seeing things and empathising congruently with that; only then did I see that the barrier was my trying to work with the horse, when the real issue was gaining the trust of the horse, so it was prepared to work with me.  A truly special and moving experience I will never forget."

    Brian Robbit MA. MAC. MBACP

European Learning and Development Manager (GB)
